My Thoughts On It All: George Floyd, Racism, and Riots (Ep. 44)

I’ve had such a heavy heart these last couple of days, and I know I’m a few days late on voicing my thoughts and perspective on the current state of affairs in America right now, such as the racism and riots. I needed time to myself to really process it all and get centered. I don’t like to post about things just to post about them or to speak just for the sake of speaking. When I use my voice and my platform, I want to use them intentionally.

So, this is it. Here are my thoughts on the tragedy that happened that day in Minneapolis, racism, and riots.

I’ve gotten messages asking me why I haven’t spoken up about what’s going on when I have a platform to share from and an audience who listens and looks up to me. I’ve really thought this through, and I feel solid about what I’ve expressed and shared in this episode, and it is my hope that it serves you in some way.

Each and every one of us is playing a role

We needed this. It has been a long, long time coming. The broken system has finally manifested its own destruction.

While it pains me to see the destruction, violence, fear, and chaos that is erupting… the reality is that this NEEDED to happen. This IS the present reality that WE have created based on the roles that we have been playing for centuries. This is the purging of centuries of pain, avoidance, and suffering.

The protestors are playing their roles. The police are playing their roles. And it’s no doubt that George Floyd played his… each of us has a role in this. Because as you have seen, all it takes is a single person to create a movement. And that’s what’s really happening here; a movement.

This is the outcome of taking the COVID-19 virus more seriously than we have taken the racism virus– which has been responsible for countless human deaths over centuries and centuries.

Focus in CREATION

I don’t believe it to be just a coincidence that all of this has erupted. I’ve been reading and studying the purpose and value of CONTRAST. Contrast helps you, me, US, as the creators we inherently are, to focus and CREATE.

The biggest question I am asking myself right now is, what can I, WE, create from all of this? Darkness provides the opportunity for light to be born. Without it, light could not exist.

And the darker the darkness, the stronger the contrast, and the brighter the light will appear. In other words, all the events that have happened– George Floyd, racism, and riots are all leading to something big.

racism and riots

The current state of affairs, the destruction, and darkness are crucial in the birthing of new light and in the expansion of humanity. Trust that this is all part of the process of a dire need for change and transformation in America.

I AM a voice…. and so are YOU

No, I’m not an expert. I’m not a guru. I’m not a politician. But I am a voice.

And I am now certain of the role that I get to play in all of this. I know what this is giving me the opportunity to voice and create… Amidst all of this pain, tragedy, frustration, anger, hurt, and heartbreak…amidst all of the darkness that is upon us now…

I must trust and accept it all and focus on creating LIGHT through Unconditional Love. All-accepting LOVE. THIS is what our country needs right now more than ever… Unity. ONENESS.

This is not about ignorance, avoidance, or spiritual bypassing. It’s not about painting fake positivity over real pain. We must, of course, acknowledge what is actually occurring.

Because the only way we can overcome darkness IS by shining light ON IT.

And this lack of acceptance, lack of love, and lack of unity is, after all, the ROOT of the problem. It is the root of this virus and the pandemic and its core.

(Photo by Jeff Wheeler/Star Tribune via AP)Instead of love and acceptance we have created a system that operates from JUDGEMENT, FEAR and CONTROL. We have created a system that creates SEPARATION. We operate from an us vs them mentality. A better than vs less than. An “I’m right” and “you’re wrong!”

This is what is DESTROYING us. It’s time for complete reform.

And I know that in order for that to happen, I must practice the ‘art of allowing’ by fully accepting and embracing what is unfolding right now.

And I am actually going to take it one step further than simply accepting…

I invite you to APPRECIATE it

This is all being divinely orchestrated by God to ensure our highest evolution.

Maybe that triggers you right now. Maybe it even really upsets or angers you that I say that. Or maybe you’re thinking– “easy for you to say! White girl in her own little bubble in Sedona– you have no idea!!”

Yes, that’s true. I don’t have any idea what it’s like to be black because I’ve never been black (at least not in this life). I also have no idea what it’s like in places where violence is erupting right now because I’m not there.

What I DO have an idea about is what I am observing from MY perspective– which is not better, more than, or less than anyone else’s perspective.

What I’m observing is not that everything is falling apart but that everything is finally falling into place. So I am practicing the “art of allowing,” and more importantly, GRATITUDE.

I honor and am thankful for George Floyd and him being the catalyst we needed to WAKE THE F UP and finally bring about the change and transformation we have been in dire need of.

I am so thankful for every single black American in this country because, for centuries, God has continued to choose YOU as THE catalyst for unity, peace, and love. Your purpose is so profound and runs so deep… and it is no small undertaking. It is quite the opposite. And for that and so much more, I honor you deeply. I love you. I admire you. I’m in awe of your courage, your bravery, your resilience… I am with you. We are in this together.

Here is my movement and commitment… what’s yours?

I want to be clear that I am NOT saying that we shouldn’t have any negative feelings towards what is happening. That would be inhumane and frankly, not human.

When I first heard the details about what happened that day in Minneapolis, I felt my insides twist and my heart ache. I felt sick… and I did not resist those feelings. I allowed myself to feel them fully.

I’m committed to being conscious and intentional about what I create from the dark feelings I experienced. I want us to work together to shift the conversation away from focusing on the problem and to really start focusing our energy on the solution.

I know that if we are able to come together right now instead of apart, we CAN solve this. Together.

It just takes ONE HUMAN BEING. ONE OF US to create a ripple effect… a movement…

The beauty of contrast…

Resistance is when we push against reality. When we reject it, try to “control” it, and try to make it “wrong”.

Our society is waging a war against racism, a war against the government, a war against crime, a war against cancer, a war against AIDs, a war against terrorism, a war against sexism, a war against inequality… and all are getting bigger.

You simply cannot get to where you want to be by attempting to control or eliminate the unwanted. We cannot get what we want by PUSHING AGAINST what we do not want.

And you don’t have to be worried about your observation even if you don’t like what you see because you have the power to focus upon what is wanted and NEEDED and thereby create more of THAT.

Again, I am going to reiterate that FOCUSING is different than ACKNOWLEDGING because we absolutely get to acknowledge the reality that upsets us… it’s important though that we transform it into action by RE-FOCUSING on what it is that we actually want to create.

Diversity and contrast provide the basis of our expansion and of our very EXISTENCE. Shining light on what we don’t want is necessary in order to see and fully understand what it is that we do want.

Since all existence and expansion are born from the new intentions and ideas that are born from the contrast— illumination of the contrast would stop the expansion.

So I do not think that what is happening right now in the world is wrong or bad…

I believe that the rebellion, revolt, and rallies are necessary and perfectly orchestrated as part of a massive expansion that is underway…

Just as a caterpillar sits in a dark cocoon before it emerges into the light as a beautiful butterfly…

Final Thoughts on George Floyd, Racism, and Riots

We need the darkness in order to birth the light. The darkness is where creation and expansion are born. Darkness is what elicits and evokes transformation. And right now we are going through a divinely orchestrated, much needed, deep metamorphosis.

Let us embrace the darkness right now. Let us show up as a stand for what we want to see. And let us expand with the healing power of love so that there is too much light for darkness to creep back in.

Once and for all. We are creating HISTORY together. Mark my words.

I accept you. I appreciate you. I honor you. I love you. I’m with you.

Whether you agree with me or not, I hope you can still appreciate and accept my truth. After all, we don’t need to agree with each other to love each other.
